Eighteen.5

So, just to keep you updated...

I started a new post last week. It was a written one, because I don't have much in the doodle department at the moment. My brain, however, won't shut up in regards to...everything else. As per usual. Keeping me up until 4:30 in the morning.

And, as wonderful as all that sounds, I keep doing stuff to that post, so, it's not ready yet. I'm hoping to have it up by the weekend though, so you guys won't have to wait too long.

Patience, friends.

Until then.

Update 7/2: The post, believe it or not, still isn't ready yet. Mostly because I keep fine-tuning the crap out of it, and I'm still not satisfied. Fingers crossed that I'll eventually give up and publish it some time this year. Hopefully, it'll be worth waiting for.

Eighteen

So, it's been a solid few weeks since I've been here, and some...uh, things have happened since.

I just love how descriptive I can be...

For starters, I had to go back to the doctor's office. Mainly to get refills on my meds, but, also for the mandatory checkup that they like to do. From experience, I know that some doctors wont give you refills unless you're there in person, so, off I went.

I kinda figured it was a bad omen when everybody on the SEPTA bus decided to stand when they got on, rather than sit next to me on the way up. I shower, people. And I didn't even have my headphones on that day.

I get there, on time, surprisingly, and showed my way to a room. The nurse takes my stats, and tells me to take a seat. Then she asks about my hair.

Yes, I did this on my own. I used Special Effects' Joyride and Jerome Russell Bleach Vol. 30. It usually takes me an hour if I want the best results. Yes it's permanent. Yes, I have a few broken pieces from not taking care of it. In reality, I only get the first line out before she tells me about her daughter's mishaps at a random salon "full of Asian women". She has pictures to back it all up, too. I want to give her advice, but she seems too wrapped up in her story.

After a 10 minute wait, the doctor shows up. We do the customary "How's things?" with each other while she looks up my stuff in the computer.

"Aah, here we are. Did you see the dermatologist? What did he say?"

"Uh, no. I um...didn't have the money to go."

She's a little surprised. She checks my back, and, thankfully, the spot wasn't even there anymore.

"What about the endocrinologist? What's up with him?"

"He told me to lose weight. And that was it."

"Did he discuss the test results with you?"

"Uh, no, he just told me in so may words that I'm chunky. And that I shouldn't be."

She looks at me for a second before going back to the screen. She then finds the test I took with him, and lists off his notations. There was so much she said that came back abnormal, that I wasn't even sure it was English after 30 seconds.

"Well, you really need to follow up with him."

Yeah, I'll do that.

"Okay. But, he never told me any of that. Just so you know."

"Well...you need to follow up with somebody, then.
And now...let's see...the CA125. Where are you with that?"

"Got imaging done twice, they sent me to Fox Chase. Fox Chase said I was clear."

"Ok. Just to be sure, you should talk it over with your gynecologist. She might want to re-test you to be safe."

She pokes and prods me a bit, the way doctors usually do, before filling out my prescriptions.

"I'm actually going to take you off the Serovent. Studies have found it hurts more people than it helps."

I had been taking this medicine for 10 years now. If it was going to hurt me, I would think it would of happened already. Not to mention, I think the one she's keeping me on is crap, anyway.

"We also need you to re-do the blood and urine tests from last year. You had said the results might of been inaccurate because--"

"Uh-huh. I'll do them."

I eventually walk out of there with a wad of paper the size of a book. Depressed, I walk back home rather than take the bus. I didn't care if it was too hot for a hoodie. I didn't care that my head felt like it was going to explode. Not even the mighty power of Calabrese perked me up.

Because, in a nutshell, I'm dying.
Slowly, but surely.

And, honestly, she could of saved paper, time and money if she just handed me a bottle of strychnine.

So, yeah, theres that.
And...these. For what it's worth.

"Vamp Girl"

I used a really crappy pencil to do these, and it kind of shows.
She kind of looks like Twilight Sparkle, but human and like, bitey.

A bird...thing.

Joe said it kind of reminded him of a Pokemon.
I see a rejected Hasbro toy.

Emo Vegeta.

Because...well, why not?

But...wait! Where's the blood? The gore? The craziness?

It's coming. Trust me. I've already got 2 more down, and your wishes will be fulfilled.
If I'm not tucked away in the ground first.

Fingers crossed!

Until then.

Seventeen

First post of the new year!

...in March.

Yes, I'm aware. The apartment wont clean itself, though. And, y'know, mom/wife things. Keeps a girl busy when I'm not doing this, or attacking my video game collection.

Plus, for some mysterious reason, I seem to have a small following on Twitter. I guess folks on there enjoy what I have to offer, even if it's just usually me making ridiculous comments. But, I did just post a picture of myself within the last hour, so we'll see about that in the upcoming weeks.

Onward!

These three I did at the beginning of last month, trying to stretch my hands out for something else I was working on. Enjoy?

Totally random...ballet guy...doodle...thingie.
Yeah, that's the ticket.

I was trying to fill the bottom half of a page, and, unfortunately, this was the only thing I could think of, so, here we are.

A raccoon! With tidbits of garbage!
But...is he under a street light? Praising the junk gods? In mid-musical?

Maybe...

This guy.

I was trying to go for 'Yeti', but somehow wound up channeling a demented Gossamer. I still like it though. The feet, for some reason, took me a minute to come up with. Don't know if I'll change that someday.

So, that's what I've got to show for now. I'm hoping I'll be able to finish up some other stuff this week, and then I'll have a nicer post for everyone later this month.

If things go the way they should.
Which, you know as well as I do, the odds of that are pretty slim.

Oh, well...

Until then.

Sixteen

So, here we are again.

It's been a few weeks since the last post, and, surprisingly, it hasn't been a total waste.

For starters, I have two new drawings tonight. Both of which I did in about a week of each other. I also worked on a few sketches for Joe, for an idea he and Jon (his friend and former ExD member) had for a short animation project. Those will have to wait for the time being though, until I finish the other ones he requested and until I know he's done with them.

And, as crazy as it sounds, I now have a Twitter account as well.
I know...I know I had said I'd never do it, and how dumb I thought it all was before. I am totally aware of my hypocritical actions. But, I have to admit, it's kind of fun knowing I can send just about anyone short little texts and or opinions on a daily basis without needing a phone number or anything like that. Plus, every now and again I get a random person following me. Sometimes it's spam, but, most of the time they actually turn out to be cool. And, y'know....Calabrese. I get to send Bobby annoying little messages all the time now. Heh heh...<3

For those wondering, as if I'm sure you didn't figure it out already, my Twit handle is @madamcheezy . So, like, come talk to me and stuff.

Onward!

I've been calling this one "Head", mainly for a lack of anything else to call it. He came to mind after a walk one night. Damn near froze my ass off too. Joe said he looks like a cross between an alien and Dayglo Necros. Kind of wish the texture of the hair came out better, but, hey, it's a phone camera. An older one at that.

This is one take I had on the Slender Man. I have plans to do at least one or two more. I kinda like how the tentacles came out, and how they seem oddly crisper here than they do in my sketch book. Couldn't decide on whether or not I should of colored in the slime to make it look like blood, though.

Well, that's it for now.

As you know, the holidays are coming up, so I may or may not be able to get back on before the 25th. I'll still be working though, so, even if the latter happens to be true, I'll still have some fun stuff to share next time.

Until then.

Edit 12/10/12: I can't spell. -.-()

Fifteen

It's been a long time...again.

I'm trying though, trust me.

Time is a helluva thing though. I used to have oodles of it, and now I'm actually scheduling time for Blogging.

Kind of funny, isn't it? The thing I used to do when I was younger because I was sooo bored, is now something that needs time taken out just for it.

Ah, anyway.

Two tonight, both quick little things I did a month ago.

"Fire Snake"
Because....you know...that's what it kind of looks like.

I like the coiling of his tail. The hair is messed up though.
Meh.

"Heart Possession x 2"

Yes, I really called it that. Because that's how long it took me to draw it.

I'm doubting I'll be back on before Halloween.

So, everyone have a happy one, and try not to let your collective religious intolerances get in the way of some spooky fun. I mean it. Don't. Do. It.

Also, new post in CoT, so have fun with that.
Be warned, it's mildly sad.
So, you know. Stuff.

Heh.

Until then.

Fourteen.5

Hello, again.

No, I have not abandoned this blog.

It's been crazier than I thought with things here, and I haven't done much.

Rest assured, though, the floodgates are coming.

Just a little bit longer, friends.

Until then.

Fourteen

I'm late.

I suck.

I know.

But! Random happy good times in terms of pictures tonight.

And just to let everyone know, more vacation time ahead.
No, not my choice. I didn't even pay for it.

Enjoy?

A hooded guy.
Yeah, real creative, artsy wordplay at work here.

For some reason, he always reminded me of He-Man. Too much Skeletor channelling or something when I drew it years ago. And I didn't blend his face, but it looks kind of neat all scratchy.
Maybe.

A fairy girl thingie.
Ooh...!

She reminds of one of my comic characters, Hana, who, is kind of the opposite of simple and sweet. I wish I had a better picture of this...

St. Wombat!

Yes, that's actually his name. (There's a whole story behind it.) He's from my comic I did years ago. If you can read it, it says, "I simply adore everything...that moves." Which, is completely true. The guy did not care who or what you were. If it was a possibility that he could make out/poke/prod/worse with you, he'd try his best to make sure it happened. Did I mention his two puppets? One, saccharine sweet, and the other, a little mean, and cussing all the time. I'd write their names out if I weren't afraid of misspelling them. Damn my lack of skills in Japanese.

Wombat was also a priest in training, too. Hence, the crucifix chain.
And...uh...he liked to wear a fez, too. Because.

Another 'whatevs' picture.

Some tentacled boy who likes cashews and puffy hats. With weird charm. Or something.

So, that's it for now. Again, if you notice, nothing recent due to my days disappearing somehow. I'm guessing when a certain someone goes back to school in a month or so, I'll have more time then.

Or not. Who knows.
Pleh.

Until then.
